The Stofner family is the fourth generation to manage the Hofmann farm in Reinswald in the Val Sarentino valley. There, Stefan, his partner Martina and their four children live together with their grandparents and great-grandmother Karolina. Under one roof at around 1,500 meters above sea level, they master the day-to-day work together and live next-door to Stefan's siblings.

It has always been clear to Stefan that he will take over the farm; he could never imagine otherwise. As a passionate organic farmer, the wellbeing of his 14 cows, the rabbits and all the other animals on the farm lies close to his heart. He takes particularly loving care of his Tyrolean Grey Cattle, one of the oldest cattle breeds in the Alps.

Stefan is busy on the farm all year round and additionally works in the nearby skiing and hiking area. In summer, he also devotes himself to maintaining the farm's steep meadows, some of which are still mowed by hand with the help of a cable winch.

Martina plays an important role on the Hofmannhof farm as well and was the driving force behind the decision to gradually switch to organic farming.

When Martina is not looking after her four children Jana, Veronika, Isabell and Arian, she loves to spend her time in the garden growing fresh vegetables and herbs. Her daughter Jana knows the barn like the back of her hand, because she spends every free minute there and helps her father and grandparents wherever she can.

The family inherited its love of animals from grandfather Albert. It is his connection to agriculture and the cows that characterize him. His wife Maria is also a mountain farmer through and through: With a lot of experience and joy for her work, the senior farmer has no trouble mastering the daily challenges at 1,500 meters.

The Stofner family loves their everyday life on the farm and looks forward to the upcoming tasks every day.
